Man, Bloodshot Really Needs To Take A Day Off – A Summer Special

by Staff

Bloodshot has been tirelessly raining violence on the Valiant Universe for 25 years, well, with the occasional foray into interpersonal relationships, and he’s never had a vacation. Even nanites get a little worn out occasionally, don’t they? No? Well, Bloodshot is finally getting a day off, courtesy of his publisher.
Bloodshot’s Day Off #1 will be  a standalone one-shot special geared toward celebrating 25 years of Valiant’s “hard-coded commando”, written by Eliot Rahal (Divinity III: Escape from Gulag 396), whose stories are always action-driven and funny, and drawn by Khari Evans (Harbinger, Harley Quinn).
Arriving on July 5th, we are going to see the Bloodshot Squad move from the pages of Bloodshot Reborn onto the streets of Manhattan for a little time off. In a series of one-shots that pay tribute to great Valiant comics of the past, this issue will be in homage to the original Bloodshot #12. The second one in this series will arrive in May with Eternal Warrior: Awakening #1, and then in June, we have Rai: The History of the Valiant Universe #1 to complete the 25th anniversary one-shots.
Valiant say:
For the first time in over 30 years, two nanite-enhanced soldiers once controlled by Project Rising Spirit – codenames: “Tank Man” and “Viet Man” – have finally earned their freedom and some government-sanctioned downtime, courtesy of Uncle Sam. After enduring a lifetime of war, blood, and fire, all these two semi-retired commandos want is a little vacation. But how long can this pair of highly trained tourists unwind and enjoy the sights of New York City… before they find trouble in the city that never sleeps?
Bloodshot’s Day Off features covers by Kano (Swamp Thing), Khari Evans (Ninjak), Ben Tiesma (TMNT: Bebop & Rocksteady Destroy Everything), and Renato Guedes (Bloodshot Reborn).
